New features have been added today on Otohits:
Autosurf system has been updated. From now, the autosurf window does not open in a new tab, but in a separate popup. It will be easier to spot the autosurf window, but moreover, it allows to a lot of websites to not block the autosurf anymore! the second cause of blocked surf was the "desynchronized tab" from some websites. With this new popup and the update of the autosurf script, it should not happen anymore! If you had websites refused with this reason: "Block the surf", you can try to add them back, there is a great chance that they will be accepted.
You can now give points to your referrals. Go to your referral page and click on "reward him". Points will be take from your account and transferred to the referral's account. An email will also be sent to inform him about this gift.
On administration side, websites can be checked without putting them under the "Waiting for validation" status. This means that your websites will continue to be displayed even if it's under testing. I hope you will enjoy these new features. Since the autosurf system has been impacted, please don't hesitate to use the contact page in case of any problem. The evolution of Otohits is not over, in the next few days, a cute feature will arrive on Otohits. You have a good surf.

The concept is quite simple: activating this feature will considerably reduce the visits from proxies/VPS/Servers and low quality computers and thus provide a more natural traffic from natural connections. Beta tests results are really promising. However, the impact of bringing the high quality mod on Otohits is still unknown on a full scale, that's why it will be considered as experimental and the fixed cost for it can evolve in the future. Also, as it will only target a part of the surf instances, there is a high chance of getting less unique visits when activating the feature on your links at this time. Finally, if the results are good and if we see that you use and enjoy this feature, we will surely find a way to reward the members that use instances on machines that are considered as "high quality" (decent machines with home connections).
A visit with only one page displayed will likely result in increasing the bounce rate and a session time of 0. The main goal of the reload option is to produce a "session". Reloading the page will result in navigating a second time to the same page, so in total, there will be 2 pages visited on the same session.
The reload action will be exactly the same as clicking the refresh button of your browser or pressing F5. It is not simulated and will reload the current visited page.

Clicks is one of the most powerful features available on Otohits. It helps you set up a "real" navigation on your website.
To use it correctly, there are few things to know that we will talk about in this article.
Clicks feature does not work on every website and can't be used to click on specific part of it.
Clicks will only work on internal links of a website. As an example, if your website is http://mysite.com, clicks will only work on links that stay on the same domain (http://mysite.com/page1, http://mysite.com/page2 ...).
The referrer identifies the webpage that the previous request comes from. As an example, if I go to google to look for something, then I click on the result http://mysite.com, mysite.com will be able to know that I come from google.
You can test it yourself: go to https://anonymiz.com/myreferer (opens new window) directly (by typing the URL in your browser). You will see that it can't find any referrer, because you enter the URL directly in your browser.
The referrer is often used by advertisement companies and most of the time, they don't like to see that the traffic of your website comes from an autosurf.
Back when Otohits proposed an autosurf system directly in the browser, Hide the referer was an optional feature that came with an additional cost in points. This was using some tricks to avoid having Otohits being displayed as the referer.
When the Application came out, it was decided that having no referer (direct visit) will be the default. Any new link added on your account will be automatically set to have no referer.
The referrer identifies the webpage that the previous request comes from. If you need more explanations on this concept, you can referer to the guide about hiding the referer.
When you override the referer, you make the page believe that the visit comes from a specific domain.
By default, a visit will be direct (no referer), which can be considered as a low value traffic for specific needs when it represents a major part of the traffic.
With the override referers feature, you can put any domain as referers and your links will think that the visit comes from them, even if no link is really present on the referer page.

Find the Change the referer row and enable it
User-agent is like a signature of your browser. With the user-agent, a website knows which browser you are using.
Here is an example of a user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0
The above example shows you the Firefox 31 user-agent.

Most statistics and traffic tools can easily look at the user-agents that came on your website. When the same user-agent is always used, it's easier to suspect low quality traffic.
Changing the user-agent will bring you more natural visits, made with multiple user-agent and you can even simulate visits from mobile phones or tablets.
When the Application is started, it will automatically and randomly take a default user-agent. This is to avoid having the same one for every Application and introduce some variety.
You can also choose manually the user-agents to be used on your links.

Find the Change the user-agent row and enable it
Throttling helps you control the number of visits you will receive per hour (and therefore, the number of points your link will use).
We recommend you use it on new links to test them to avoid wasting too many points.
There are 2 ways to use the throttling:
Using the classic limit per hour
Using the advanced throttling
It's the simplest way to limit the visits on your link.
Go to your my sites page
Click on the configuration button of one of your links and click on advanced options and info
Just set the maximum number of visits you want to receive per hour and click Update
